02.04.2021 10 pm KST was the time ARMY all around the world suddenly cry, because another masterpiece from BTS is dropped. BTS just released another Japanese song called “Film out” with its music video. This song tells about someone that still remembers the taste of their loved ones but apparently, they were no longer with us anymore and their memory is still there and felt so real. The music video itself still depicted Jin’s effort to save his friends by trying to go back in time when the members undergo some difficult times that affect their lives.

This song is some kind of ballad with the slight of soft rap from RM, Suga, and J-hope. The message they deliver through this song is so deep, the lyrics show how all the memories with someone they used to so close with is still lingering with them as if that person was never gone. That is why the lyrics show how desperate they are because they can’t keep that person beside them and only the memories that still there. This lyric is also depicted in the music video which when Jin trying to visit the members through a parallel universe as a time traveler and showing what they are doing in the past, but no longer after that he can’t save them because the hourglass suddenly rewinding and they all disappear in front of him, meaning the time is looping and he must try it again from the start.

The song is co-written by Jungkook with Iyori Shimizu of back number, the rock-ballad band from Japan. This is also the first time they collaborated with a Japanese band in the making of the song. “Film out” is also the soundtrack for a Japanese movie called “Signal: Long-Term Unsolved Case Investigation Team” which is released the same day as this song was out. This movie is based on the previous drama which has the same title and also the remake of a Korean drama called “Signal” which was released in 2016. The story also tells about time-traveling in which two detectives, one is from the present and one is from the past whose work together to solve the case through the walkie-talkie.

This song is so meaningful and BTS is trying to show it through the music video how it feels when we still remember the person that already left us and their memories still everywhere in the room. That person could be our lover, family, or friends that mean a lot to us.
